Vernon Anderson purchased a former Gulf Oil terminal in 1976 and founded Anderson Oil Company to provide reliable and affordable heating oil and gasoline to small country stores.

As the business continued to grow, Anderson Oil Company purchased a warehouse in the mid-1980s to expand operations.
